Theme 2: Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis Print

The second theme deals with program analysis techniques, type systems, logics, and process calculi in order to develop appropriate and powerful techniques for analysing the behaviour and the quality of service properties of global services. Particular emphasis will be put on the aspects of security, performance evaluation and resource usage for which we will study quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques. These theme 2 research activities are broken down into two work packages.

  • WP3 - Qualitative Aspects of Services - covers a full spectrum of qualitative analysis techniques developed for guaranteeing a high level of security and trust for the location transparent delivery of services while allowing mobility of resources.
  • WP4 - Quantitative Aspects of Services - investigates the extensions needed to the core calculus described in WP2 in order to cope with the quantitative aspects of service-oriented systems. It concentrates on stochastic methods for developing analysis techniques and tools to study and verify quantitative properties such as resource usage and quality of service.

Theme 2 deliverables:

  • Th0.3.a: Quantitative and qualitative measurements of quality service and service level agreements
