The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BUTE) is the largest technology-oriented university in Hungary with 8 faculties, more than 110 departments and 2500 lecturers and researchers.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics is responsible for more than 25% of the approximately 14000 students of BUTE. The main educational, research and development activities at the Department of Measurement and Information Systems are related to (i) Embedded Information Systems, (ii) Intelligent System Design, (iii) Dependable Systems. The Fault Tolerant Systems Research Group composed of a total 17 members primarily focuses on the analysis and synthesis of dependable systems especially on the integration of the UML and BPM-based modelling technology with formal dependability analysis methods.
