The University of Bologna, founded in 1088, is the oldest University of the Western World , with more than 90,000 students and about 5,000 full-time researchers. The Department of Computer Science is composed of about 35 permanent full-time researchers. In the specific area of service-oriented computing the main research efforts are devoted to the formalisation of choreography and orchestration languages with a particular focus on coordination and transactional aspects.
