The University of Leicester (ULEICES) is one of the UK's leading research and teaching universities. ULEICES participates in SENSORIA through the Department of Computer Science.

Research in the department covers a number of areas from algorithms to semantical foundations and software engineering, including calculi and models for concurrent and distributed systems, software architectures, model driven development, service-oriented computing, and system re-engineering.

ULEICES is involved in several research projects at EU and UK levels, including Leg2Net (a Marie-Curie TOK-IAP on Re-engineering), inContext (an IST STREPS on Collaborative Teams), SEGRAVIS (a RTN on Visual Modelling Techniques) and WEE-NET (a Network of Excellence on Web Engineering).

Main contributions of the University of Leicester to SENSORIA are in the areas of concurrent, distributed and mobile programming, formal specification and refinement, Web engineering and Web services, software architecture and modelling, model-driven development, and reverse engineering.
